Update! More Chicks Hatch

Today more chicks hatched! We put them in a box that says "Fabric" and everyone laughed because someone said, "Hey! The Chicks are fabric!" and I said, "That's strange because they are moving!" They were in the box because it was too crowded in the incubator. (The last incubator broke because the engine ran out.)

The other exciting event today (hee hee hee) was that we got to hold the chicks. V and I named our's "Chipfunk" because I wanted "Chipmunk" and he wanted "Funk". I thought it should be "Chipmunk" because he looked like a chipmunk because (da-da-duh) he had stripes.

The Chicks Come to Life!

Make photo slide shows at www.OneTrueMedia.com

Do you remember about the other post about the chicks? We first filmed this one. These chicks are in Ms. P's class. We would have gotten both of the classes' chicks, but the battery ran out. See the yellow thing on the sides? That's the incubator that holds the chicks.

In my class, the light bulb burned out just like the battery in the camera. So we had to put a jacket and box on the incubator to keep the chicks warm and so the warm air would not float out. In my class, there were four chicks that hatched today! You could hear chirping in the ENTIRE room - if you were quiet that is.

I love all the chicks!

The First Moment of Seeing Chicks Hatch

In class today, one egg cracked some. No, wait...two...no, three eggs cracked. When I went up to the incubator, I saw the first egg cracked and I saw a little movement in the egg.

You see, the incubator is a thing that holds eggs. In class, we are observing eggs and their hatching. There were 25 eggs, I think. We candled them and saw not all of them would become chicks. I guessed that 15 will hatch, but maybe only three will.

Update is coming tomorrow!

My New Robot

I made a new robot today. I named him "Robottie". He loves cake and animals. He looks like he has braces. He has one antennae and when he moves sometimes his pins come out and I call them swords. You may ask, "Why did she think of this?". I thought of this because I wanted to make a paper person, but the "swords" were too big. So, I made my own robot.

Robottie says, "Hi!"
